Quick Update

I've been working a lot lately and I know there's at least one holiday I need to write about (Lade is a Pilgrim and Kady missed out on the rogues, but since it doesn't apply towards the Meta, I really don't care), not to mention our failed attempt at Trial of the Grand Crusader, but I wanted to do a quick post on Warcraft's Anniversary.

I noticed when I logged into WoW today that there was a section of the website dedicated to their anniversary. I'm sure this web site's been up for a while and I'm just now noticing. But what I liked was they're working on a mosaic of people and their "battle cry" (horde or alliance sign). So I played in Photoshop today and came up with a picture I submitted for the mosaic, enjoy :)

The Headless Horseman is a Hoe...

Getting ready to summon the Hoebag Headless Horseman.

When I first started playing WoW last year, my first toon (Ladelyia), was only in her teens and low 20's, so there wasn't much she could do. I was able to pick up candy from several inns and get a couple of the easy achievements but not much. It was also very annoying to go to the main cities and towns that had waterfronts because there were plague crates that would turn you into a zombie if you got too close. It was for WOTLK and once you were a zombie you could infect other players. Being a lowbie, I found this very annoying because it was an interuption in my questing, I couldn't turn things in or I couldn't get things done in town because I was too busy either avoiding plauged players or trying to find the antidote because I had been turned.

This year, the Hallow's End festivities were way more enjoyable. The one and only thing I had trouble with (on both Kady and Ladelyia) was getting the Hallowed Helm to drop. My hubby (who I love very much) had it drop while trick-or-treating one or two of his toons and I hated him for a while. His lowbie Shaman got Sinister Calling through trick-or-treating, freaking ticked me off. I was running HH almost every night with Lade and Kady for a chance at the helm. I cared about the possibility of the mount too, but mostly the helm. For the people in our guild who semi-cared about the acheivements (there are a few who absolutely refuse or simply don't care at all), they ended up getting the Hallowed title before Garaba and I (who are actually working on the violet protodrake). It got to the point where Garaba was offering money to whoever's summon won him the helm. I managed to get the helm and finish the achievements a day or two before the end of the holiday, thankfully.

Finally, on HALLOWEEN, the LAST day of the entire two week holiday, Garaba finally got the helm. It took an extra summon, but he got it. The first group of guildies to go didn't manage to get the helm to drop. So Super and I got on our other toons (his hunter for him and Kady--who didn't have it yet--for me), Darwe had come on his Warlock so we each got summons, which was awesome. Super summoned first and that helm showed its vindictive little face after a relatively quick downing of the HH. I looked over at Super and asked if it would be mean if I rolled need on it (we'd been rolling need on anything that we actually needed, that way if the others got greed-happy we would still have a chance at looting the helm for the acheivement) since Kady didn't have it yet. That was when he told me that it had been his summon and he'd split the money with me. I'll take in-game money over an achievement on my non-achievement toon, heck yes. I knew how much Garaba was offering too, 500g, so I definitely did that. Since Kady hadn't done her summon yet, I went ahead and did it since we were all there anyway. That damn helm dropped again. Nobody else in the group needed it, Kady was the only one. So now both Ladelyia and Kady are sporting "the Hallowed" titles and Kady got 250g out of the deal!

Ladelyia dressed as a pirate (with a weird tabard glitch) and a weighted jack-0-lantern.

Brewfest & Downing Onyxia

Got a lot done in the past week, despite working a heck of a lot of hours (two jobs will do that to you!). Both Kady and Ladelyia are Brewmasters. Kady got it the hard way and Lade got it the easy way (returning the clothes and using the refunded tokens to buy the membership), but they both got the achievements and both pets so I'm happy with that. No mount for either toon, although one or two members of the guild did end up getting the ram I think. I'm thinking by this time next year both Kady and Ladelyia will have violet proto-drakes, I'm hoping anyway, we'll see. I may say "screw this" and just do the achievements I want or skip the ones that are ridiculous. Meh. It's whatev.

So Ony...

I was on an alt getting ready to get a group of guild lowbies together to run Gnomer, when Nayana asks if anyone wants to do Ony-10. Since we hadn't defeated her in our guild run last Wednesday, none of us were locked and she was tired of her Super Fail pug group that she was already in (they died on trash). So we got a group together (Nayana's really good at finding good pugs), got in Vent and away we went.

We only wiped a couple of times (although one shouldn't count because 3 of us got hit with a wing swipe running to the back of the room and died), and while we were discussing things before we started our last, and successful, attempt, I said in vent, "Enough practice, let's down this bitch." Apparently, I should have said that sooner because it seemed to be just the boost we needed to defeat her ;) I didn't pick up any gear, but we got 3 triumph badges, so that was nice. 4 of our guild members went, so that makes more of us who are now familiar with the fight and succeeded at killing her, which will make our next guild attempt that much better.

Now all I need to do is get all the way through ToC-10...Super did that in a pug last week while I was sleeping, the bum. Hasn't stopped talking about the gear he got either... :-P

Gates of Dawn: Now With 34% More Fail...

Pretty much all I've been doing lately is attempting to get slightly better gear to make raiding slightly easier. I haven't had much interest in doing anything else in the game, I may need a break...

Today we took on all new bosses for the guild and failed miserably. All we got for our troubles was repair bill after repair bill. We attempted Beasts of Northrend and only got to the worms, who proceeded to kick our asses. After we realized that ToC10 was a bust, we moved on to attempt the new Onyxia, which was also a fail. I did Onyxia once on Lade at a low level, and even then I lagged out when all the whelps were released and by the time I got back in Onyxia was dead. Wipes are frustrating enough as it is, it also doesn't help when our more experienced players say who failed at what every time we wipe. Every new boss is a learning experience and most of the time all we actually need is practice, especially practice in dealing with the random things that could kill you if you don't act quickly enough (like fire on the floor or whelp eggs--I'm guilty of both).

The only thing I'm really doing besides raiding (and Brewfest, which I'm almost done with anyway) is leveling a druid and her professions. I love the warrior, but it's really tough to level her without a healer. The druid fights in a similar way to the warrior but she can pop out of bear form and heal herself, which is really nice. I get the dps cat form in another level, very excited about that. :)

Girls of Gates - Slumber Party Edition!

So, Nayana, Alindras, and I have been trying to have a slumber party for a couple of weeks now. Tonight, we're having it. I'm currently slightly intoxicated, just barely buzzing, but I'll write more as I get progressively worse (I hope). We started watching Tropic Thunder, but got to the point where we were talking over the movie more than watching it. Next we did the nose strip things, which I have never done before, so that was interesting, I've attached a video of me taking mine off below.

We've paused the movie now and are listening to music on YouTube, apple bottom jeans with the furrrrr...Nayana is braiding Alindras' hair.

We're fairly intoxicated now, Alindras is describing a music video she wants to do, but it's highly inappropriate. We had been chatting with Darwe via google messanger, but he's wussed out and gone to bed (it's only 12:30am).

Me: "The Amish don't appreciate nudity."
Alindras: "Well, Pittsburgh does!"


It's morning, about 10am now, Nayana and I were up at 7, blech. We've been sitting and talking in the living room (also enjoying "Best of Craigslist" ads). Alindras came down and made us bacon and toast for breakfast, yummy!

It's also Pirate Day and I'm off to get some achievements :)

Lotheb Pwn-age

So I meant to write a post about this forever ago when I did it, but I got distracted by WoW (and facebook), as often happens...

I joined a group for Naxx pretty much just for the emblems (also for healing practice, but mostly for emblems) and Darwe was bored that day so he decided to go too. The plan was to hit Naxx and finish it in one go. The problem was that it was a pug group. As far as pugs go, it wasn't the worst I've had, but it wasn't the best either. The whole point of the run was to gear the leader's newly 80 DK (who didn't even have all blues...).

By the time that we got to Lotheb, I was the only healer left, the others had to bail for various reasons, as did much of the original DPS. Healers being hard to come by on our server, we spent several minutes outside Lotheb's room trying to decide what to do. I maintained from the beginning of the discussion that I was l33t enough to solo heal it, so we struck a bargain: give it one try with solo heals and if we beat him awesome, we'll grab heals afterwards, but if we wipe, grab more heals before trying it again. Darwe whispered me before the pull and didn't say specifically that I couldn't do it, but I think he was prepared to wipe. I had confidence as a Holy Priest with sevearl AOE heals, we are definitely the #1 healers of the game, in my opinion, especially in raids.

In we went. My only worry was my mana. I'm definitely not the most mana-efficient healer in the world, Garaba totally kicks my ass in that department (I don't know how he does it, probably witchcraft), so I knew that I would have to be careful with nobody to back me up in heals. As it turns out, it never became an issue, Necrotic Aura was slightly helpful there.

Necrotic Aura is Lotheb's "thing", it's what he does best to annoy raiders, especially healers. If you aren't aware (or didn't follow that link I posted above), Necrotic Aura blocks all healing (so don't waste your potions or bandages) for 17 seconds. It's an instant cast and there's only a short time after it fades before Lotheb throws it back up, so you have to get your raid-wide heals out fast. Having a version of Deadly Boss Mods (DBM from here on out) that works properly is crucial to healing this fight effectively. It will give you a timer showing you how much longer the aura will be active. (As a priest) When less than 3 seconds are remaining on the aura, begin casting Prayer of Healing (PoH). I say "less than 3 seconds" because normal cast time is 3 seconds but mine is slightly less than that because of my gear. If you time it right, the aura will be lifted only miliseconds before you cast your big heal. After that, you have time for a Circle of Healing (CoH or just "Circle") and maybe a few ticks of Renew on the tank if you're fast enough. While the aura is up, all you can really do is bubble the people taking the most damage (in an ideal world, this should be just the tank--but be smart, don't bubble the tank if it's going to interfere with gaining rage or something). That was why I didn't have any mana issues, I spent so much time standing around and not casting heals that it would regen almost completely while I waited.

I think Lotheb is the only Naxx boss that I can solo heal, I wouldn't want to try any others, lol. He does do an AOE, which is the reason for the need for AOE heals, but it really doesn't hit for very hard. If you get the timing right as a priest (decked out in a mish-mosh of Ulduar and Naxx gear), you shouldn't have any trouble healing this fight, solo or otherwise. There was only one time where I thought we might wipe, it was the only time that the raid was at half health or lower. I didn't get the timing quite right with the fade of the Necrotic Aura and my cast of PoH and I don't think anyone got healed that round. What I didn't know was that Lotheb was almost dead at that point, and before the aura faded again he was down for good. The best part? Lotheb's was the only death XD

Not a single raid member died during the fight, whether those who could heal themselves did while the aura was down, I don't know, it's possible, but I do know that everyone (including Darwe) was impressed with my l33t heals. I was quite happy with myself :)

Gates of Dawn IRL

I was lucky enough to have a friend (Nayana) get me into WoW, I didn't have to start out completely on my own and make too many n00b mistakes. I still made them, just not as many. Like, I didn't know about the recruit-a-friend program, so when I started up my account, I didn't give Nayana credit and we didn't get the cool bonuses.

Anyway, we've all known each other for a long time, some more than others. The guys all met in high school, us girls came a little later. Alendia and Alindras met in college, she was the first girl to join the guild. I came next, followed shortly by Nayana. Calinette got Heap into WoW first, and the rest followed eventually. Super and I were last, the others had a significant level lead on us, but we quickly caught up and even made it to 80 before a few others. The name of the guild was voted on before Super and I started WoW, it was Alindras' name that was chosen: Gates of Dawn.

I like that it's just us in our guild. I once made the comparison that it was like going to the playground with your friends and discovering that you have it all to yourselves. There's a certain freedom about having a guild with people you know in real life. We address each other by name constantly, it's only when in a group with pugs that we really use the toon's name. It's ok for us to make mistakes and learn at our own pace, there's no pressure to be perfect the first time around. It was also nice to level and have friends who were higher, definitely made things easier when you have a level 50 running you through Deadmines and Stocks. Or having a blacksmith make weapons for you. Before I knew about QuestHelper, it was nice to have someone who had quested through a zone to help me out.

For the most part, we all live in the same state. Heap is the farthest away, a whole bunch of states over. WoW has been a cool way to stay in touch, whether we're all in the same state or not. We raid regularly, at least once a week and we're trying to make it more than that. My schedule is the worst for it, working at the restaurant. I work mostly evenings, which is when everyone else is free, so multiple raid nights doesn't happen too often. I'm hoping to have a real job soon, but at this point, whatever paycheck I can get is fine by me.

So that's why Gates of Dawn is awesome. We had one person from WoW join the guild, he was looking for a guild to join, but we were too casual for him and he felt like an outsider since we all knew each other anyway. It's back to being the 9 of us now and I do kinda like it that way :)

Know Your Talents - Holy Tiers 1 & 2

The Holy Tree Tier 1 contains the following talents: Healing Focus, Improved Renew, and Holy Specialization.

Healing Focus: Reduces the pushback suffered from damaging attacks while casting any healing spell by 35%/70%.
--I have this maxed out. It's not always the anybody's fault that we take damage, there are AOE's, random charges, etc. If you're casting Greater Heal, it's already a slow cast and if you're using it, that means you need that big heal as soon as possible. If you don't have Healing Focus, that cast could take longer if you're taking damage from an AOE. Your bubble can also help you if you think about casting it before start casting your heal.

Improved Renew: Increases the amount healed by your Renew by 5%/10%/15%
--I also have this maxed out. Renew is my favorite and main heal, ok one of my favorites. But seriously, it does all the work for you. How, as a healer, can you not love a cheap heal-over-time? How can you not want to improve it and make it even better? I thought so.

Holy Specialization: Increases the critical effect chance of your Holy Spells by 1%/2%/3%/4%/5%.
--Also maxed. Crit is super important for Holy Healers, things proc and free heals and everyone benefits from free heals, yay! If you have the opportunity to increase your crit, do it. That's why I have this maxed out :)


Holy Tier 2 has Spell Warding and Divine Fury.

Spell Warding: Reduces all spell damage taken by 2%/4%/6%/8%/10%
--I don't have any points in this. I use my bubble when I start taking damage (or anticipate taking damage) of any kind, not just spell damage. I'm sure there's a place where this is useful, I just haven't found it for me.

Divine Fury: Reduces the casting time of your Smite, Holy Fire, Heal and Greater Heal spells by 0.1/0.2/0.3/0.4/0.5 sec.
--I've got four points in here only to reduce the cast time of Greater Heal. I hardly ever use Greater Heal while we're in battle, usually I use it after someone's died and been rezzed, but you can bet the few times I do use it while in combat I want the cast to be as quick as possible. I didn't go the full 5 points in it because I don't need the talent it leads into (Searing Light, that's two tiers down, I'll talk about that another time), and because I have better places to put that one point.

That's all for now, I've got to shower and run errands before work, there are nice things about working in a restaurant and having evening shifts: sleeping in and being able to do things during normal business hours. But more will be coming, I'm hoping to do at least the whole Holy tree and maybe get to the others depending how long it takes me to get through this one.

Quick Rant

At first, I thought it was my fault that we were wiping so much in heroic Trial of the Champion, after all, I definitely wasn't getting heals out fast enough to keep the tank alive. Finally, after what was maybe our third wipe trying to pull the three Horde bosses on foot, while everyone was eating/drinking, I took a look at our tank's gear. He was taking damage more quickly than I had seen in just the couple of weeks that ToC's been out, I had to see if the problem was on my end or his. If it was on my end, I had to figure out what was wrong with my heals so I could keep us alive and if it was him, well, that meant there wasn't too much more I could do besides using bigger heals.

Turns out it was his gear. I didn't have a chance to check and see when he hit 80, but it had to have been recently because he only had a couple pieces of purple gear. Most of his gear was blue and he even had some things that had an item level below 200. It was no wonder he was taking so much damage, he was tanking ToC in aluminum foil! H ToC is a high end heroic, even if he didn't have problems tanking other heroics, this was one he should have prepared for a little bit more. There's a reason that the loot you get from H ToC is better than normal heroics, it's slightly more difficult. One of the druids in our group (we had two which I thought was cool, I love druids) realized what was happening and offered to throw up heals until the first of the Horde bosses was down and that was the boost we needed to defeat them. Even with the extra help, I still burned through my entire mana pool keeping him alive. That's a difficult pull for me anyway, it wasn't necessary to add a poorly gear tank to it.

It's easier to pug as a healer than as a dps, but there's no guaranteeing that the group will be any good. Thank goodness for ChatNotes (an addon that lets you make notes about people, it's saved me from a bad pug more than once).

A look at what's coming soon...

Much thanks to Merlot of Misery: A Shadow Priest Blog for pointing me over to shadowpriest.com in regards to my talent tree. There is a wealth of information over there and I'll be taking a couple of days to sign up, read over lots of posts, and get back here to write about what applies to Kady and her Shadow spec. I'll be making some slight changes to her talent build, based on suggestions from Merlot, and I'll post about those changes and how they help but I also plan on figuring out what my spell rotation will be in raids for maximum damage output. Once that's done I'll also post that here. I have a couple other ideas in my head for future posts and once those become a little more solid (as in I need to do real research), I'll start writing those and posting them either all together or at regular intervals. I also need to talk about my Holy build and what I do for heals in more detail, especially mana management. I'm getting better when I'm in Holy-mode at managing my mana, I used to be awful, but Garaba (our guild's other Holy Priest who helped me with my talent build) has given me some pointers and I'm doing much, much better.

My days off have been sparratic, having two jobs will do that, so I haven't had as much time for writing as I'd like, not to mention I've been running around enjoying patch 3.2, two lowbie alts of mine got mounts simply because they could! I've got a couple days off coming up so I'm hoping to write a bunch of posts (or at least get some started) soon. :)

Shadow Talent Build

I'm finding it very difficult to find a decent Shadow build and from what I can tell, so have a lot of other people. Granted, Shadow is not my main spec (well, not anymore), but I still want to melt faces effectively when doing dailies, as DPS in a raid, or when some Horde jerkfaces come along and try to gank me.

From the various trees that I've looked at online in my research, I'm finding out that a lot of the Shadow builds are based on personal preference and what the player plans to do with the Priest. I'll admit, I had been hoping to find a reliable source who had crafted "the ultimate" Shadow build so I could copy it and be done. Unfortunately, I've gone AFK several times while browsing out-of-date and recent forums with no luck. Some people say full Shadow is the way to go, as in throwing all possible points into Shadow and the rest kind of willy-nilly wherever you want. I'm leaning towards the other theory, throwing about 14 points into Discipline and the rest strategically placed in Shadow.

I'm going to give this build a try and see how I do. I'm not about to go pick fights with Horde, although that's not a bad idea, but I am going to go Shadow for a while and test it out.


Edit:
After using the build, I found that I had two talent points left over. I put one in Psychic Horror, just because I love that spell and it's very useful against melee enemies. I put the other point in Darkness, just because it never hurts to do extra damage.

Are your heals "Superior"?

Kady FINALLY got Superior today, lol even after getting several pieces of Naxx and Ulduar gear, she didn't have it until she replaced her wand. We ran a quick H AN, only wiped once (which is only because we fought the last boss almost the whole way through with four people, Dramanda got hit with pound and didn't survive), and I got the wand that we went in there for: Rod of the Fallen Monarch. Coincedently, I also got my 100th Emblem of Heroism on the last boss, lol so I got two achievements after one instance. It was pretty sweet.

Also,there's more dead body spamming in the Trade District, different website, same MO. It's rather annoying and I don't want to join the forums just to report it...

Withdrawl...

So this is day number two without having played WoW. Yesterday (Friday), I had a long lunch with a friend shortly after waking up late (love sleeping in), then went straight to work, was exhausted, and went straight to bed. Today (Saturday), pretty much the same thing. Met up with a friend, grabbed some lunch, got my hair cut with said friend, hung out at friend's apartment watching True Blood, went to work, getting ready to go to bed. My poor Ladelyia will never have her Argent Hippogryph and Kady will never save up enough for swift flying because, let's face it, 3.2 is not coming any time soon. How do I know this? Because it'll come the Tuesday AFTER Kady has enough money the swift flying training, and Kady's not going to get that much money together for a long time. Especially since I keep buying mats for expensive enchants for gear I think I'm not going to replace, then what's the first thing I replace when I get to Naxx/Ulduar? The gear I just got the enchant for...Although, I think Ulduar gear is pretty safe to get good enchants on, since I'm just about caught up to the other clothies in our group, I have a couple of slots that are better in some cases... XD

Oh, saw a new kind of spam the other day in Stormwind. I've been searching high and low for a way to report it, and it may have already been taken care of for all I know, it has been two days, but let's see what you think:
I couldn't tell what the deal was at first, I was just like, "What are all these dead bodies doing here?" They all had the typical spammer names too "sdfsiho" and "greirngi", that stuff, like your cat just walked across the keyboard and accidently named your toon for you. Then I noticed that there was a pattern to the bodies, so I changed my camera angle and sure enough...

Even their website wasn't creative. If you're going to go to lengths like that to promote your website, at least have a good name!

Girls and WoW

(In no way do I represent all women who play video games, I'm merely stating my opinions, views, and observations based on my experience.)

I've been a video game enthusiast pretty much since my parents bought us a Sega Gensis for Christmas. Before being introduced to WoW, I played a majority of Nintendo games, definitely still a Nintendo Girl at heart. The Wii and the DS were definitely my systems of choice. WoW is my first MMORPG. I didn't get into the Xbox 360 or the whole play online with strangers part of the console systems. I liked games that challenged me not in how quickly I could diffuse a bomb while being shot at, but I enjoyed being challenged mentally. I loved Professor Layton and I'll be picking up the new on next month, I love Brain Age and Big Brain Academy. Tomb Raider has always been a favorite, depsite the fact that it was made for male players (seriously, Laura's hot, rich, adventurous, and single). What I loved about Tomb Raider was figuring out how to get through each level.

Games with storylines have always been kind of hit or miss with me. Sometimes I like my games to have a story where I can learn about the characters and there's a definite endpoint to get to, other times I like having an open-ended game like The Sims (looooove that game) just to mess around in. Now, there are plenty of girls out there who like first-person shooters and can't stand games that are "slow" with the action, just like there are plenty of guys who like the puzzle games. Every gamer is different and likes games based off their personality, not their gender. The games I like are due to my personality and what I consider fun, playing a WWII shoot 'em up online with fifteen strangers is just not one of them.

That's where WoW comes in. I've talked before about how I got into WoW (a friend mentioned that I might like it and I got addicted before I realized what happened), so I won't go into detail about that. I would like to talk about the aspects of WoW that appeal to me, and some of those that don't.

My biggest pet peeve with some video games is that you don't always have a choice of what your little avatar, your little representation of you The Player, is as far as gender goes. A lot of times, it's simply assumed that boys will play the game and there's no reason to have a girl character for the small minority of girls who might play. Sometimes this is due to the story, other times there really doesn't seem to be any reason at all. Some games the story doesn't seem like it would change if the character was a girl. I prefer to be gender nutral in a game rather than playing a boy (although I'm pretty much used to it having had to grow up with it), games like Age of Empires or The Sims where you're omnipotent are great for me because I'm me, I'm not some random boy character or girl character.

With WoW, every race has a male and female option for your character, I LOVE that. I love being able to be female in a game because I'm a female in real life. I don't have any male characters because I feel like I've paid my dues playing male characters growing up. That's just me though, I know plenty of people who are gender benders and play both male and female characters.

Another thing I enjoy is just how much there is to do in WoW, even after you reach level 80. There's plenty of questing and killing of things to do until you get to 80, so many chain quests and lore if you want to get your fill of story, and even if you don't feel like leveling, you can be a twink and just do Battlegrounds and other PvP stuff. After 80 there's dungeons and raids if that's your thing, dailies and the auction house if you want to make money, achievements to earn, mounts and pets to collect, professions to level, Wintergrasp if you need your PvP action, and so much else. I don't have to stop playing at level 80 because I've completed everything there is to complete, brand new doors open up at 80.

I love details. I love things like the apple core on the nightside table next to one of the beds in one of the inns of Dalaran. I love the pattern of the cobblestone streets in Stormwind. WoW is incredibly beautiful, even the places I think are ugly are still beautiful because there's no lack of details in every area. Have you ever been all the way up to the top of a tower in Dalaran and extended your viewing distance to see the whole city? It's gorgeous! Or even looked out from Wintergarde Keep over to Naxx with the viewing distances all the way up? The amount of devistation that you can see from the scourge is incredible. In every little detail, you can feel how much time and energy Blizzard's designers have put into this game. Their blood, sweat, and tears are almost palpable. Even the scenery is beautiful in The Barrens. The variety in styles of the zones is amazing. I have to say that Scholozar Basin and Stranglethorn Vale are my favorites, and my least favorite is Zul'Drak.

My motivation to level is directly related to how much I like the zone I'm in. I'd much rather quest in zones I like, so when I'm in a zone I don't like, you would think that I'd just quest as much as possible to get out of it, but really the opposite is true. I take my sweet time and drag my feet. Pretty much anything that has to do with undead, I don't like doing. I don't know what it is. I can play undead on other servers and be just fine, it has something to do with being Allince and having to deal with undead.

Alindras, on the otherhand, loves that stuff. She loves the Flame Laviathan fight in Ulduar whereas I could definitely do without it. Her first 80 is a warlock and her second is a DK. She loves playing the dark, evil characters. I like playing the pretty characters. In some ways, I'm very much a steriotype of a girl gamer, I like the vanity pets and collecting mounts and pretty clothes. I have two bank bags devoted on each of my 80's just for pretty clothes. But that's my personality. Nayana's not like that, Alindras isn't like that, not to the same extent as me anyway. Nayana likes playing a hunter because she can tame pets and give them cool names. I like being a hunter because I can have a pet that helps me fight.

The coolest thing about WoW is how much there is to do for every kind of player. There's plenty to do if you're a casual player or a hardcore, progression raider. If you love PvP you've got a whole slew of choices, if you can't stand PvP there are whole realms you can level on without being ganked at all. You can join a guild that fits your playing style or not join a guild at all. Our guild is made up of a group of friend who all knew each other in real life and got each other into the game. I said once that having our own guild was like going to the playground with your friends and finding out that you have it all to yourself. You can play exactly how you want, at your pace and style. You don't have to worry about what the other kids think or what's going on behind your back. We have the opportuinty as a guild to grown and learn together, without worrying about the reprocussion of our mistakes (other than complete wipes in raids, but with infinite lives, who the heck cares? Do dailies to pay for your repair bills and you're fine). I've heard of some guilds who, if you pug with them, and you make a mistake, not only do they kick you out of the group right then and there, but they actually go out of their way to make sure that no one ever picks you up as a pug and tell everyone how bad you are. Seriously? It's a game, we all pay the same amount of money to play (sure, some people pay more for custom keyboards or mice or multiple accounts, but the base price is the same for everyone), how are you going to purposely ruin someone else's gaming experience like that?

I realize that with the anonemity that we all enjoy, the bullys and jerks will show their true form, but I don't think I'll ever be able to wrap my head around why or how people can enjoy being mean. From my experience, letting the few random pugs know that I'm really a girl, most people think it's cool. A lot of times I'll meet other real girls (I have no reason to doubt them, though they could be faking I guess), most of the time I'm in a pug with all guys and they think it's cool that I play WoW with my husband (when I give away that detail too). I've read stories and I know these kinds of people are out there who don't like women, or don't like women gamers, who don't think girls can play any video games besides "Imagine Babyz", etc. Thankfully, I haven't had too much interaction with those people. I always feel my pug out before I decide whether or not to chat with them or just stay quiet and get the job done. Jerks make me angry, and if I end up in a pug with a jerk, a lot of times I just stay quiet unless they're picking a fight with someone else and we're not progressing because of it. If it gets bad I'll sacrifice being locked to a heroic and just leave because while they're free to say whatever they want and behave however they want (within Blizzard's policy for player behavoir), I'm also free to leave and not put up with that behavior.

So this post kind of turned into a bit of a rant, but my main point that I want to get across is that girl gamers are exactly the same as boy gamers, everyone has different interests and personalities. There aren't things in WoW that ONLY girls are interested in or ONLY guys are interested in, there are things for everyone, even me, the sometimes-steriotype, detail loving, picky video gamer (I only have a few games that are impulse buys, most of the games I have, I've researched and read about before buying them because I want to make sure that I'll enjoy every minute of the game). I think the sheer number of women who play WoW (both those who admit to being girls and those who wish to remain anonymous) speaks volumes about what Blizzard has done to create a game that appeals to such a huge demographic. Other video game developers should take notes when they starting thinking about creating games for everyone. The only thing I think Blizzard could do better is market more towards women.

The only commercial I've seen for WoW involving women was an awesome one from Mountain Dew (two women turn into a night elf and a troll and fight each other in a grocery store because one has Alliance Mountain Dew and the other has Horde Mountain Dew). I'd like to see more of those. I don't want to see the celebrity "what's your game" ones though, because while celebrities may sell to guys, I don't find that it appeals to me very much. I like that the Mountain Dew commercial had two normal women in it, they weren't celebrities, they weren't models, they were regular women, they looked like women that I could have been friends with. I think that's definitely a step in the right direction as far as advertising towards women goes. When you choose a celebrity to sell your product, you're assuming that I look up to that person or that I care about what that person thinks or says. Like the "I Play For Me" Nintendo DS commercials with Carrie Underwood, America Ferrera, and Liv Taylor. I do appreciate those women and their careers, seeing them playing their DS's in situations that I'll never ever be in really doesn't sell the product to me. America plays her DS on the TV set (or a movie set) in her make up chair, Carrie plays hers on her tour bus. The only one in a normal situation is Liv who plays in her bedroom and with a friend outside on a bench. I want to see normal women using the product, like in the Mountain Dew commercial. I want to see a mom purposely put her kids to bed early so she can raid Ulduar with her guild. I want to see a college student playing WoW in her dorm. I'd love to see a husband and wife team playing together on the couch or at the dinning room table. Those are commercials that grab and hold my interest and make me remember the product. Because, while girl gamers are the same as guys in-game, IRL there's definitely a different marketing strategy.

Kady is geared for Ulduar, happy day!

This Wednesday, GoD's usual raid night, Kady will be entering Ulduar as our third healer! Yay! In our Naxx run last night to finish out the last quarter, Saph, and KT, I ended up with so much gear. I hit exalted with Wyrmrest Accord right before the run (I love running VH) Sandals of Crimson Fury and have them enchanted. Then, in Naxx, I picked up Resurgent Phantom Bindings, Gown of Blaumeux, Cloak of the Dying, and Cowl of Winged Fear. After Naxx, I had more than enough emblems to buy Lattice Choker of Light. I had intended to save for the token for the chestpiece, and I still will, but since I picked up that hot robe (it really is adorable on me, wouldn't have looked quite as good on Garaba who let me have it XD ) Contortion didn't drop at all in this whole run.

So tomorrow we head into Uduar, only Ladelyia won't be coming this time, Kady will. I've decided that Kady will be my main and Lade is now my alt. I've found out that I absolutely LOVE healing over DPS, especially in raids. I'll still play Lade a bunch, especially during holidays and to get pets and mounts, and do my best to keep her epic gear up-to-date. The nice thing about having two toons who are geared for Ulduar is that I can be flexible and bring DPS or an extra heals depending on what we need. What's nice is that Drenath is happy about not having to heal anymore and he can work on Heap, his warrior, so we've basically swapped places. Kady heals and Heap can DPS. So we're missing a role or have extra of something, we broke even XD

Naxx will be mine, all mine, bwahaha!

Last night, we managed to take down Spider, Plague, and Construct. The last one we 9-manned because Super (my husband) had to head off to work. There were a couple of wipes this week also, but mostly individual deaths (including my own when I DC'ed during the Thadius fight, grr...). Kady got the token for the epic priest pants, yay, as well as a new ring (and I got another new ring today from CoS), I've only got a couple items left whose i-level is lower than 200. Ulduar is not that far away! :)

I had a difficult time healing CoS today, we wiped on the first boss and I felt bad because I couldn't get the right heals off fast enough. I ran out of mana later, thankfully I purchased Runic Mana Injector Kits off the AH eariler, and having a Runic Mana Injector helped a lot. I definitely think CoS is one I'll have to practice. One of the things I had trouble with was focusing while zombies were coming up from behind and attacking me. I have my bubble and Fade within easy reach, and believe me I was spamming them whenever I could, but I had trouble balancing healing with getting the adds off me and healing myself when necessary. I have a tendency not to look at my own health for long periods of time, which is definitely a bad habit that I need to work on.

I'll have more hunter info soon, I've just been stoked about healing Naxx and heroics that I've been having too much fun to go back to Ladelyia for much more than a couple dailies. We may end up doing 25-man Ulduar with BK this weekend, if that's the case, Ladelyia will definitely be the one that goes because she's properly geared.

I came, I saw, I healed.

Kady healed Naxx! We did Spider and Plague in one night with only two wipes (and one shouldn't count because it was to those stupid gargoyles in Plague...) and one was because me and my husband DC'ed in the middle of a boss fight. Not cool Comcast, not cool. But other than that we did really well considering how many alts we had in that group. It was me, Alendia came as his druid to heal, Alindras came as her DK to DPS (just until she gets some better gear, then she'll be tanking), and Drenath came as his warrior (off tank). So almost half the group was alts and only wiping twice (and they really shouldn't count anyway) is freaking awesome. I healed and LOVED it! I was worried at first, having only been DPS in Naxx before, but I was also worried about healing heroics and have been doing pretty well at that too, if I do say so.

I've decided that Kady will probably be my main now and Ladelyia will be my alt, but this isn't to say that I won't play both, I'll just prefer to heal. I'm hoping what this well enable me to do is go on multiple locks of Ulduar and Naxx, since I now have multiple geared 80's. So if our sister guild runs something and need an extra hand, I can bring my hunter and not worried about being locked out when our guild runs something. Kady has picked up some AMAZING gear over the last couple of days. I went ahead and spent emblems of heroism on Handbook of Obscure Remedies and with the help of the AH, a guildie or two with mining and a blacksmith from BK, I was able to have a Titansteel Guardian crafted for me in less than 24-hours. Garaba deemed me Naxx-worthy after getting the mace and off-hand. I got a new belt from trash mobs or one of the bosses, I can't remember. Lotheb dropped the token for the epic shoulders and I had zero competition since our warlock was playing her DK, Garaba has ones from Ulduar, and my hubby had gone to work. They are pretty sweet looking shoulders and Garaba is jealous because they didn't drop for him. I'm almost revered with Wyrmrest, so I'll be able to buy the Sandals of Crimson Fury from them soon to replace the ones I've got.

I ask Garaba how I did healing during Naxx and I think I may have scared him with my awesome healing skills because he made a comment about me stealing his job ;) Wouldn't hurt him to have a little competition anyway, he long ago beat me in the highest epeen competition we were having. He's miles ahead now, so at least this way I can give him a run for his money in dungeons and raids :) What's funny is, I'm pretty much as awesome as I am because of him. He showed me the mouse-over macros he uses, gave me tips for my action bar, introduced me to Grid, and helped me re-work my talent tree (it was really bad, I'm crap when it comes to picking talents for any of my toons). I was ok before all that, I could get through regular dungeons without the party wiping, but usually there were one or two casualties along the way. I got progressively better with each thing he showed me. So I'm definitely the healer I am today because of you Garaba :)

And if I do end up whooping your butt in heals, it's your own fault for making me this awesome XD

WoW Comic Coming Soon!

The girls of Gates of Dawn started working on a comic yesterday during the "guild meeting" (which constituted the boys and Alindras playing D&D while Nayana and I played WoW, Guitar Hero, and took a nap XD).

A script was written and artwork is currently being drawn, we're hoping to post some of the comics here, or at least post links to them, in addition to posting a link to the blog wherever we do post the comics :)

Kady hit 80!

I just got Kady to hit 80 tonight and I'm super excited! I can't wait to take her into heroics and start gearing her for Naxx. The best part about our guild having already cleared Naxx several times on our mains means that we shouldn't have too much trouble getting alts geared and running them through at a reasonable rate. I'm sooo excited about being able to heal heroics and just sticking with the Holy spec. Currently, I'm reading blogs about talent trees and researching which heroics I want to focus on for gear. I'll write again once I've accumulated some knowledge, made some decisions, and hopefully add some more gear to my set :)

I spent somewhere around 200g on learning all my new spells and another couple hundred on level 80 shoulders and gloves from the AH, as well as some gems that I neglected to buy sooner for some other pieces. I love being an herbalist/alchemist, not to mention this being my second character, I haven't spent as much money as I did on my hunter, so even after having just gotten Cold Weather Flying only three levels ago, and dropping all this money after hitting 80, I still have over 1K gold to spare. My big thing now will be swift flying, after being spoiled and having it on my hunter for so long, regular flying seems sooooooo slow and I simply MUST raise another couple thousand gold for swift flying. The nice thing is that I've started the Argent Tournament dailies, in addition to the other Icecrown dailies, so I can have two level 80's working on dailies and earning money, which means Kady will get swift flying muuuuuuch faster than Ladelyia did and I won't have to borrow money from guildies ;)

Mid Summer Festival and Other Fun Things

The Achievement-Whore that I am, I simply HAD to participate in the Mid Summer festivities, there were just too many achievement points to be "earned." As far as holidays go, doing the achievements was pretty easy and actually worth the time it took to get them. Honoring each of your faction's flames got you 6g plus blossoms that are used for currency and desecrating each of the opposing faction's flames gets you 13g (and blossoms). It's better than doing dailies in Icecrown because it's a change of scenery for each flame and it doesn't add towards your daily count so if you like gold, you can still do your dailies :) Most of the flames can be found just outside towns/flight points or just off the road, and once you've done a few, you pretty much get the idea of where to look for the rest. Or you can be like me and find someone who's listed all the locations and go by that XD


Kady is progressing through the 70's, slower than through the 50's and 60's, but that's the whole point I guess. She's currently 74 and healing and dps-ing her way through Northrend dungeons. The last one she healed was Violet Hold, but before that she healed Azul'Nerub which is super difficult to heal. I want to say nobody died, but I think maybe there was one death because I didn't get a heal off fast enough...

Anyway, we had a warrior tank (not my favorite warrior tank from my friends list, but a decent tank just the same) and we also had a shammy which helped. I think I may have been the only one who had gone through AN before because I found myself describing boss fights, but we made it through without any wipes. Picked up some new shoes and a belt and getting that much closer to running Naxx. The other priest healer in our guild showed me the macros that he uses for healing and I also downloaded Grid and now my healing is better than ever! Of course, the more practice I get the better. The macros are mouse-over macros that allow me to heal whoever my cursor is over and Grid shows everyone in the party in a small, organized box, which lets me get my cursor over to someone quickly. I've only healed two instances so far with this system and already I can't remember how I healed without it!


Speaking of new gear, Ladelyia is currently wearing new shoulders (hard to see in the picture) and weilding a new staff. Specifically, the Spire of Withering Dreams. There is a druid in our group, but he came with us on his Shaman to be our third healer, and my hunter gal pal was visiting her mom and forgot her laptop, so I had absolutely zero compeition for this beauty. XD We managed to defeat Kologarn, who was the boss that dropped the staff, for the first time and it only took us a couple of tries... ;)

Tasty Cupcakes

No, I'm not talking about the item that you need to eat for Second That Emotion or Bad Example, I mean cupcakes IRL (In Real Life). The latest guild get-together happened to be on one of our guildes' birthday, plus who doesn't love a reason to make cupcakes?

I knew I wanted to make WoW cupcakes, but had trouble initially with how I was going to decorate them. I typed "World of Warcraft cupcakes" into Google and came up with a couple of things. One thing that came up was Horde Cupcakes by snackordie.com (a video game baking website, <333) Guildwatch: Let them eat cupcakes, an article on Wow.com by Mike Schramm. I thought was funny that I stumbled onto because I've recently become acquainted with their podcast. Anyway, that gave me the idea for Hearthstone cupcakes (which I may or may not do at this point) and guild crest cupcakes, actually having our guild crest as the decoration. I also want to try and re-create the Tasty Cupcake and see if I can't make it as tasty in real life as it looks in my backpack... ;)

So for cake mix I chose Devil's Food Cake because that was one of the birthday boy's favorites, and Classic Yellow because, well, that's my favorite and it's usually a crowd-pleaser.


I found that using a measuring cup with a spout made it really easy to pour the batter into the cups in the pan. There was a little bit of dripping between cups, but it was minimal and oh-so-delicious ;)

Following the recipe on the box was easy and I didn't burn anything! :)


Time to decorate! For the base frosting, I used a can of off-white butter cream and used food coloring to get the various other colors I needed. Purple came out more gray than purple, but it did have a purple-ish hue to it so it still worked. Blue was also grayish, but it was a really pretty gray-blue. More Hunter Leveling

Picking up where I left off, level 6.

Basic shot rotation at this point. I'm pretty much just using Hunter's Mark on everything, using Serpent Sting and Arcane Shot once before the creature gets to melee range and I kill it in 2-3 hits with my sword.

Broke down and sent myself some money and bought new clothes, one of my favorite things to do with a newbie is get the "sets" of basic clothes. I'm now wearing the "Rough Leather" set since I won't get to wear mail until level 40.

Turned in a quest and leveled, nothing new to learn, poo :( More questing and more getting distracted by comics...

So I ran up to Stillpine Hold to learn Skinning and Leatherworking and found out that I don't speak their language which means I can train with them yet. I'm not quite high enough to do the quests where I learn the language so I guess I'll have to put that on hold for now, but at least I know where to go, though I could check in Exodar if I really wanted to.

It's getting late, depending on how much cleaning of the apartment I get done tomorrow, I may quest with her a little more and get a little more blogging done, I have another post started about DPS. It is also the dreaded Maintenance Day, supposedly our realm will only have "rolling restarts" to deal with, but since last week was a little hit-or-miss as far as when some realms were actually playable, I'm not holding my breath.

Naxx in 3 hours and only a 7g repair bill!

Our guild finally cleared Naxx in one night, just three hours actually. We had a couple of people missing, so it wasn't the whole guild, but that just means we'll be quicker when we have them next time ;)

We managed to get Arachnophobia which was cool and we almost got Make Quick Werk of Him, we were off by one second according to DBM! We had some people from Broken Kingdom with us, but I know we'll get Werk when we have all our guildies with us :) There should be an achievement for an individual clearing Naxx without dying because there were a couple of us who didn't, "The Undying" is really asking a bit much. I do think we'll be able to get it one day, we just need way more practice doing "The Dance" for our entire group to get through Naxx without dying, lol.

I also replaced a blue ring I had with a purple, but it was barely an upgrade. I need ten more emblems of valor and I can get a really good one, then the only blue I have left to replace is a trinket.

Baby Hunter - Hunting as a Lowbie

As I typically do when bored on WoW, I created a new character. This time, I created a character with the intention to blog while playing. Meet Patu.

My new Draenei Hunter. Since it's been so long since I've had a lowbie hunter, I thought it would be fun to go through the first several levels and talk about what new hunters can expect. I have a Dwarf hunter on another realm (my current realm is old and can get super crowded sometimes, I also like to have toons pre-created in case my realm is offline for some reason) and Dwarves get a gun specialization, which I didn't know until I created her. So if you already know that you like guns, go with a Dwarf hunter, if you don't have a preference or if you'd like something a little quieter, Draenei and Night Elves can also be hunters. Since I already have a Night Elf, I opted for a Draenei this time :)

Level 1 - Welcome to Azuremyst Isle

Draenei hunters start off with something that Night Elves and Dwarves don't: Gift of the Naaru. From playing my priest, I already know that I love being able to self heal, so I'm totally digging this new hunter so far.

All hunters will start with 200 arrows/bullets in a quiver or ammo pouch. Since it is now post 3.1, the quiver/pouch is no longer necessary for holding ammo, so feel free to replace that as you see fit. Ammo also now stacks to 1,000 which makes what used to be a tiny little quiver/ammo pouch seem niiiiiice and large :) Your only real move/spell at this point is Raptor Strike, other than that you have "attack" and Auto Shot (which is your best friend at any level).

Right now, I'm off to do some starter quests :)

Holy Cow! 40 exp just filled up two whole bars on my experience bar! Enjoy it, it won't happen again after level 1, lol.

After killing just 7 Vale Moths and one Volatile Mutations, I hit level 2! I have to say that being surrounded by gold light when leveling is one of my favorite things, which is probably why Ladelyia is an achievement whore, I like the noise and the banner popping up XD.

Hunter trainer! I can now track beasts, something that I've taken for granted as of late. Although, when I see yellow dots on my mini map, I keep thinking they're herbs from playing Kady...Anyway, yellow dots mean that the beasts are not aggressive and won't attack you unless you provoke them. Red dots are aggressive, so keep an eye on how close to those you get if you're not looking for a fight.

Don't bother buying more bread and water (health and mana regen type stuff) because you'll loot enough of it later and you don't even really need it unless you're hardcore going after stuff. Hunters aren't going to use up that much mana early on, especially since we don't have many special shots. Health is never a bad thing to invest in, however, so if you are eating a lot of bread/cheese/whatever, be sure to stock up, it sucks to run out. The same thing goes for weapons and armor, you'll get better stuff as quests rewards than you can buy at this level anyway. If you've got a main with 1 gold to spare, that's a whole other story ;)

The upside I've found to being on an older server is that there are fewer people doing the starter quests. I'm currently the only one in my level range in the Ammen Fields. There are two 9's, an 11, and a 12, but that's it. I have everything to myself, killing of Mutated Root Lashers aplenty. I'm actually fighting one in the background as I type this, lol. Ooo a small blue pouch! Yay free bag!

Oh, if you don't have the addon QuestHelper from Curse.com, get it. When you start doing instances, get another one called Deadly Boss Mods. They are two of the best addons you can have and will help you out sooo much.

Visiting the hunter trainer at level 4 will give you two things to learn: Aspect of the Monkey and Serpent Sting. Learn both. Aspect of the Monkey increases your dodge rating, which is something you need until you get your pet. Since this is the only aspect you can learn currently, you don't have to worry about the whole "one aspect active at a time" thing until later. Serpent Sting will also be your best friend (in addition to Auto Shot if you were paying attention earlier). Later you will receive bonuses for having Serpent Sting up, not to mention it's just all around awesome. It's a DOT, which means it does Damage Over Time, and we love those. The next things aren't available from the trainer until level 6 so don't worry about them now.

Since we don't get our first mount until level 30, and that's a long way off, I should let you in on something I didn't find out about until much later in the game. Auto Run. Go into your Options menu and check out Key Bindings. This will tell you what your default Auto Run button is (you can have two buttons for it actually, as with most other things) and let you change it if you so desire. I changed mine to Tab, so I don't remember what the default is, but I never used Tab to cycle through enemies anyway. You still have to steer when you're using Auto Run, think of it as cruise control for your character, you don't have to keep your foot on the pedal.

I'm now level 5 and off to Azure Watch. Once there, I'll stop at the Inn, make it my home, and log off for the night. On the way, definitely stop and do the quest at Ammen Ford because you'll get a free fishing rod and lure in addition to the exp. I have never had this quest go quite this easily. 10 casts of my net got me 10 Snappers and only one Murloc, who happened to drop a Snapper after I killed him! I definitely like doing starter quests while having the whole area to myself :) Went ahead and learned the fishing skill.

Got to Azure Watch, was close to leveling so I turned in my quests. Then headed to the hunter trainer and learned Arcane Shot (another good one) and Hunter's Mark. Also picked up first aid and I'm planning on doing leatherworking and skinning again since they are such a big help for getting armor as a lowbie hunter. I honestly don't know why more hunters are leatherworkers, you can learn to make mail eventuall just like hunters can learn to wear it. Oh well, more business for Ladelyia ^_^

My little priest is growing up...

I have been grinding like crazy on Kady for the past two days to get her to Outland and the day has finally come! Not only did I get her through the Dark Portal early yesterday morning (about this time actually, lol) with the help of my hubby and another guildie (they ran me through Strat a couple of times), but I also got her up two more levels today while in Outland and she now has swift riding!

She's such a big girl now, I can hardly believe that only a few short months ago I hadn't even picked out her first talent points. The other day while I was grinding with her in the Un'goro Crater, I spoted an undead rogue the same level and immediately started drinking mana and put the bubble up. Of course the idiot had to try and gank me, he was a rogue and that's what they do best, pick on poor "defenseless" priests and other lowbies just for the fun of it. But since I knew he was coming, I was ready.

I had my bubble up and as a human I get the racial move "Every Man For Himself" which let me out of his sap. Once free, I quickly used my new favorite PvP spell: Psychic Horror. If you are a shadow priest you simply MUST put a point in it because it has saved my butt numerous times. It's cost is 16% of your base mana which can be expensive, but again, totally worth it. What it does is cause the target to tremble in horror for 3 seconds while they drop their main hand and ranged weapon for 10 seconds. In that time, I quickly used Shadow Word: Pain (again, so awesome), Devouring Plague (I have points in Improved Devouring Plague which increases the damage done), and spammed Mind Flay which is not only a DOT (you have to channel it which is the only downside, it's very cheap mana-wise though) but it also slows your target's movement speed by 50%. Movement is kind of a big deal for rogues, so naturally this guy did not stand a chance against me with all that damage being done. I did have to heal myself, and he popped a couple of potions or something because his health bar did jump back up rather quickly, but nevertheless, my wonderful little priest took care of him completely. I then mounted up and ran off in case he had level 80 buddies in the area, but that's neither here nor there ;)

I was extremely proud of myself for besting a same-level rogue, especially since I have an awful time dealing with them as Ladelyia, despite my traps, pet, and Hunter's Mark. Ladelyia is simply not geared for melee-anything, especially against someone who is geared soley for melee. Every Man For Himself is such a great move to have, I use it quite frequently as Kady and am sad when Ladelyia get stuck in something and can't get out, lol. Although, Ladelyia does have Feign Death (something else I use all the time) and I often find myself trying to Feign as Kady and of course that doesn't work either XD
